The Westminster Dog Show 2022 is historically known to be one of the world’s greatest dog shows. Also, it is well on its way to becoming the best dog show in the world. Since its debut presentation in 1877, the gentlemen and women of New York have held an annual celebration for over 144 years. The 145th event was held in 2021. Therefore, we are anticipating the next in line which is the 146th Westminster Kennel Club Dog show in June 2022.

Westminster Dog Show 2022 Week TV Schedule
The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show for 2022 will be held mid-year in June. It will be from the third weekend of the month, right into the first few days of the workweek. The dates for the WKC show are from Saturday, June 18 to Wednesday, June 22, exempting Sunday, June 29 from the competition days.
As usual, we will be witnessing the show of power and graceful appearances from America’s best dig breeds – the Westminster canine family. Getting qualified for the Westminster Dog show is quite a big deal.Now that the show is only a few months away, we thought it’d be nice to provide you with a guide on the schedule of activities for the Westminster week.
SATURDAY, JUNE 18, 2022
- Preliminaries 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Finals Competition 7:00pm – 9:30pm
On Saturday, June 18, 2022, the Westminster Dog show will open and begin with the Master’s Agility Championship. The preliminaries will commence at 8.00 am and will be on till 4.00 pm.
Then, this will be followed by the Finals competition of the same Master’s Agility group, from 7:00 pm to 9.30 pm.
MONDAY, JUNE 20, 2022
- Masters Obedience Championship 8:00am – 4:30pm
After the Sunday break, the competition will continue on Monday, June 20, 2022. This day will be exclusively for the Masters Obedience championship. As usual, the session will begin in the morning by 8.0am and run through the day’s competitions till 4.30pm in the evening.
On the same day, we will witness the Bread judging round simultaneously, starting form 8.00 am to 4.30 pm too. The breed judging will cover for the Hound and Herding breeds of Westminster.
TUESDAY, JUNE 21, 2022
- Breed Judging : Judging of Hound and Herding breeds 8:00am – 4:30pm
By Tuesday, June 21, 2022, another round of events will arrive. These events include; another set of breed judging, then a group judging. Unlike before, these activities will he held during separate times.
The first is the Breed Judging session and this will involve judging of the Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding groups. In addition, there will also be the Junior preliminaries going on. These activities will be conducted between 8.00 am in the morning through to 4.30 pm in the evening.
The second part of the day’s activities will come up by 7.30 pm in the evening, and will be on till 11.00 pm later that night. The activity that will be conducted during this period is the Group judging of the Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding groups.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22, 2022
- Breed Judging
- Judging of Sporting and Working breeds and Junior Showmanship Preliminaries
- 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Junior Showmanship Finals
- 7:00pm-7:30pm
- Group Judging
- Judging of Sporting, Working, and Terrier Groups
- 7:30pm – 11:00pm
- Best in Show
Being the show’s last day, you can trust that the Best In show event will round off the Westminster week. These are the breed judging for the Sporting, Working breeds, and Junior Showmanship preliminaries. The activities above, including the working breeds, will hold from 8.0am to 4.30 pm.
Also, the junior showmanship finals will be in for 30 minutes between 7.00 pm to 7.30 pm. Then, there will also be the judging session. This session will cover judging for the sporting, working, and terrier groups. So, this will begin after the Junior showmanship finals and will start from 7.30 pm to 11.00 pm.
